As mentioned, two master plan alternatives were developed from the original five concepts.
- The first plan focuses on a phasing strategy which features the following: parking along the edge of the site to spur further development; a central park surrounded by buildings allocated for local start-up businesses; additional community facilities including vocational schools and movie theater. The strategy calls for a revitalization of portions of the site which have overcrowded worker housing, into a small scale commercial 'souk.' Urban connectivity corridors run laterally across the valley for additional open space and pedestrian connectivity.
- The second plan focuses on a central "Wadi" which connects the site lengthwise / N to S. Terraces along the edge help controlling water during rains, as well as collecting water for use throughout the year for urban agriculture The area around the Wadi is redeveloped for small shops that would create a new economic base for the area. Traffic is diverted from the existing roads to a new road along the Eastern side of the valley which will allow the pedestrianization of existing roads within the community.
